Reverend Amy Newell-large
Rector of St. Matthew’s
Reverend Amy Newell-Large (she/her) was called to serve as rector of St. Matthew’s in 2024. Originally from Spokane, WA she received her B.A. at Gonzaga University and is a proud Bulldog come college basketball season. She received her M.A. in Religious Studies with Sanskrit from Naropa University in Boulder, CO and Master of Divinity at Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA. Prior to serving in ministry she worked in the craft beer industry spanning brewing, hospitality and education. She previously served at Saint John’s Cathedral, Denver. Amy maintains a contemplative spirituality practicing meditation, centering prayer and regular retreat.
